18k yellow gold set with 2 carats of rock crystal and 3 carats green onyx

Called "krystallos", meaning "ice", by the Ancient Greeks, Rock Crystal was believed to be water frozen so hard it could never thaw. Onyx was also popular with the Ancient Greeks and Romans, who were able to dye their onyx through various treatments described by Pliny the Elder in his Naturalis Historia. We think he would have been delighted by the interplay of color and clarity in our Rock Crystal and Green Onyx ring.
